Savannah's mobile upbringing in a State Department family sparked her interest in the Middle East early on in her life. She is now a junior studying Middle Eastern Studies & Arabic with a particular interest in relations between citizenry and government in an Islamic context. Her GPL project is geared toward exploring statebuilding by Islamist militia groups in the Middle East.
